These general terms and conditions (hereinafter “GTC”) apply to any transport mandate concluded between Emergency Vet Care SA and the Client.
Emergency Vet Care SA is a veterinary company offering an ambulance and transport service for pets with its headquarters at Chemin des Fontenailles 4, 1196 Gland – Switzerland.
- By “Client”, we mean the owner of the animal transported or its duly authorized keeper.
- Emergency Vet Care SA undertakes to transport a pet on the instructions of the Client and for a fee. Emergency Vet Care SA guarantees diligent transport in compliance with the principles of dignity and well-being of the animal.
- The Client authorizes Emergency Vet Care SA to provide emergency care during transport if necessary.
- Emergency Vet Care SA reserves the discretionary right to accept or refuse the transport of a pet, in particular if the animal is carrying a contagious disease or presents a high risk to the health and safety of our staff, other animals or third parties. This decision will be made by our veterinary team or any other competent personnel, after an assessment of the situation.
- The Client is responsible for providing accurate information about the animal, including pre-existing medical problems or known aggressive behavior. In the event of aggressive behavior of the animal presenting a particular danger for the transport service, Emergency Vet Care SA reserves the right to muzzle the animal or take any other appropriate and proportionate measure to the circumstances.
- The Client, or any third party authorized by the latter, undertakes to be contactable at all times by the veterinarian who carried out the transport of the animal, or by the veterinarian regarding the further treatment and care that must be provided to the animal once it has arrived at the destination.
- The Client releases Emergency Vet Care SA from any liability in the event of theft, loss, death or worsening of the health of the animal transported to the place of care, as well as in the event of an ambulance accident for any reason whatsoever.
- Emergency Vet Care SA is insured for professional liability, which covers transport only. The civil liability of the owner of the transported animal is reserved.
- The following payment methods are accepted: payment by invoice or bank cards. Cash or bank checks are not accepted.
- The applicable rates are those in effect at the time the animal is taken into care.
- In the event of a dispute, Swiss law will be the only applicable law and the Vaud courts will have jurisdiction.
- These General Terms and Conditions come into force on October 1, 2021. Emergency Vet Care SA expressly reserves the right to modify them at any time, the date of publication on the Emergency Vet Care SA website being authentic.
